Vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) is one of the important polymers utilized in manufacture of the emulsions and adhesives such as furniture glue. This is used to manufacture textile finishes, water-based paints and paper coatings. This is made by catalytic conversion reaction of oxygen with ethylene and acetic acid.

 

The companies are investing in Vinyl Acetate Monomer businesses to meet the demands of consumers such as acquisition of plant from British Petroleum by INEOS. The plant has capacity of 250ktpa, supplies material as floor coverings, paints, clothing production and adhesives. This acquisition will boost sales revenue of INEOS and result in many more benefits. Due to this acquisition INEOS have new product line and strengthen growth strategy. The plant acquired is combination of manufacturing facility with good amount of scale and size.
