Markers differentiates between good and bad

Cell surface markers are made of proteins on surface of cells, this eventually becomes as markers of definite cells. Cell surface marker is beneficial as it can detect that cell type consists of specific receptor which is required for biological response. The testing of surface marker is also very essential to check if ligand or experimental drug is suitable for cell type. Some markers are yet to be discovered such as novel T cell.


There have been researches in differentiating good fat and bad fat. To find protein on cell surface which is fat-tissue specific, researchers carried cell surface markers’ test. Further, the results were tested with human tissue. Generally the research is carried in cell lines and mouse and very less with human tissue. It was observed that challenge is to identify markers for different cell types – adipose.
