More plastic in deep sea than on surface

Ocean plastic is one of the dangers facing the ocean. One-time plastics are settled in the bottom of sea. It is still in progress to identify that which type of plastic particularly, the type of micro plastics affects the marine ecosystems. It is also a mystery where the most of plastic goes as it is un-identified.

It has been found that micro plastic is deposited in deep sea. There are four layers of magnitude, more micro plastic in deep sea in comparison to sediments on surface of waters. After the survey of deep sea such as Mediterranean and Indian and Atlantic sea, it is found that micro plastics, specifically polyester and rayon are found in sediments. These micro plastics are developed by humans and now have become component of sediments.
